Waterproof Canon SLR camera's and lenses

Unfortunately at the time of writing, there is no such thing as a truly waterproof Canon SLR camera or range of lenses. Meaning, there isn't yet a Canon SLR camera that lets you go deep sea diving without adding an extra waterproof case or bag.

However, there is a range of Canon camera's and lenses that are weather resistant, for photographers that need protection from rain, snow or ocean sprays. Weather resistant camera's and lenses are designed with special gaskets and rings that help keep out dust and moisture.

It's also important to note that it is of no use to purchase a weather resistant lens, if you don't also use a weather resistant camera. Sure you can use them on non weather resistant camera's, but they won't be very effective in keeping out the moisture. So don't purchase a weather resistant lens for that purpose alone.
