Inspirational wildlife and nature photographer Steve Parish
It was great to see wildlife / nature photographer Steve Parish honoured in the 2008 Australia Day awards recently. I remember the first time I’d seen Steve’s photography was when my children were younger and their school used many of his published books to teach them about animals and their wildlife habitats.
With his primary motivation being to educate people, Steve considers himself to be more of a photo journalist than a wildlife photographer.
While many wildlife and nature photographers are wondering how to make an income from their images, Steve shows how it can be done through self publishing.
Steve Parish, a self publishing photographer, uses his talent not only for childrens educational books, but also has a huge range of photographic books, greeting and gifts including albums, bookmarks, cards, journals, magnets, playing cards, puzzles, stationery, stickers and tattoos. He also incorporates his photography work into travel guides and maps, diaries, bookmarks, calendars and wall posters. In other words, whatever needs a nature or wildlife photo, Steve has published it. He truely is a master at commercially selling his own photography, making him an inspiration for many new photographers wanting to make a living from their skills.
Over the years, many people have asked Steve to share with them how he became interested in nature photography and publishing. He explains on his website what motivates him and what his personal goals and objectives are: About Steve Parish.
